Mitzvah Day 2009

WHERE TO BEGIN 

Volunteering offers many benefits in exchange for the gift of your time and expertise.  There are many ways that you can get involved with JCRC

  • Volunteer with the Detroit Jewish Coalition for Literacy.  Tutor elementary school children who need help learning to read.  Tutoring is done during the school day at a school in Oakland County or Detroit chosen by the volunteer in consultation with the literacy coordinator.
  • Volunteer to work at Bookstock.  Sort used books during the year before the sale.  This can be done at the volunteer’s convenience at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield.
  • Become a JCRC activist participating in:
