Public Education

The Public Education Task Force has been established to examine the current status of public education in Michigan and determine if there are alternative solutions to ensuring that all students are provided with the opportunity to obtain a quality education, including sufficient resources, in order to prepare these students to proceed to additional education and eventual employment.  The task force has currently identified issues and proposals relating to:

1. Consistent and timely funding for public school districts with respect to requiring fixed percentage allocations to public education in each legislative budget.
2. Establishing a set date by which the state legislature finalizes the actual amount of that allocation at least one month prior to the end of the fiscal year.

The task force is currently seeking other organizations with which to partner in order to effectively advance the implementation of these proposals.
