Leadership : PRESIDENT
Todd Mendel
President 2007-2009
Todd has distinguished himself in his involvement in Jewish and civic organizations. At the Jewish Community Relations Council, he has served as Vice President, Member of Board of Directors, Chair of its Committee on Latino-Jewish Relations, and Co-Chairman of Council’s Detroit Jewish Initiative. He is a member of the Detroit Chapter of the American Jewish Committee, and has been active in the Detroit Jewish Coalition for Literacy, the New Leaders Project and the Main Event Fundraising Campaign of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit. He was admitted in 2006 to the Diversity Champion Honor Roll of the Birmingham/Bloomfield Area Race Relations & Diversity Task Force.
Todd Mendel is an attorney with the firm of Barris, Sott, Denn & Driker. His practice covers a wide range of commercial and business litigation in federal, state, appellate, bankruptcy and probate courts. He earned his J.D. degree from the Ohio State University College of Law, attended the University of Detroit International Law Program in London, England, and graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in organizational and industrial psychology.
Todd is a graduate of Leadership Detroit and the Detroit Orientation Institute, and a former member of the Board of Governors of the University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit.
