SOCIAL SERVICES FUNDING
The Jewish Community Relations Council supports public advocacy efforts that ensure that vulnerable populations have access to quality resources. We do this in accord with traditional Jewish values that emphasize social justice and tzedakah, as well as our commitment to supporting the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit’s family of social services agencies.
GRASSROOTS ADVOCACY
Council has closely monitored ballot initiatives, often called “TABOR” (“Taxpayers' Bill of Rights”), that seek to cap state spending and tie it to the rate of inflation. When such a measure almost reached the ballot in 2006, Council was prepared to mount a grassroots advocacy campaign to educate the Jewish community and defeat the measure. Council encourages community members to join in this effort. If you are interested in becoming part of Council's rapid response email team for economic distress related issues, click here.

• Supportive services for the elderly
• Supportive services for the disabled
