Low Vision Technology Fair – There are tools that can help! -- Segment on Schenectady Today In & Around the Capital Region with Guest: Cheryl Lawyer, Outreach and Community Education. The purpose of the Low Vision Technology Fair is to showcase the latest in technologies designed to assist visually impaired persons with reading and daily activities. Low vision technology and other companies will be showcasing state-of-the-art products that help with reading and everyday tasks. The NABA's vision rehabilitation and technology staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide assistance. Other related organizations will be available including the American Council of the Blind, NYS Commission for the Blind, NYS Talking Book and Braille Library, WMHT RISE radio, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, CDTA and other health service organizations. Dr. Thomas Federici of Retina Care Consultants will speak at 10:30 am and Dr. Hoa Wang of Capital Region Retina will speak at 1 pm. Their mission is to provide services to help blind and visually impaired to lead independent lives.
